FMS models to download

OK, it is download-time!

If you are new to adding models to your FMS-sim, just read this short guide.

If you like my models AND you are a expert in PAR-files, pleeeaaase, help me by creating pars that are more realistic for my models. Contact me by clicking the head in the lower right corner. Thanks in advance.

Most recent ones are placed at the top of this list.

I nearly forgot that I was working on this idea. It is inspired on the Channel-wing of William Custer. This old idea has some good possibilities in STOL and if we may believe some papers even in VTOL. Anyway, the NASA even got interested again in this concept. They did a research on it. You can read the result on the internet.

I placed this pilot prone. Why? I wanted his CG (=center of gravity) near the CG of the airplane AND his head before the channels. I didn't draw yet the engine. It is a SINGLE engine driving both props due to V-belts hidden inside the wingparts covering the channels. Why single engine? Dual engines are forbidden in a lot of countries as homebuilt projects. I hope you like this ultra-light version of the Channel-wing.

Another kit from the firm "Flying Wings" is the very basic glider, Monarch. Sure is a fun-flyer. I am still working on this one. I finished the airplane, but the pilot still needs a lot of work. And again ... wrong parameters. I copied them from the Diamant glider.

Jim Marske is making flying wings gliders for years. The firm "Flying Wings" has several kits for sale. One project in development is the two-seater-trainer P5. I hope that somebody can work on the parameters to have it fly more realistic. Anyway ... enjoy.

This FMS model is based on one of my most favorite comic-book. It is called "Nausicaä of the valley of wind" by Hayao Miyazaki. It is one of the single comics I still kept after giving away my entire  collection (most hard-covers and a few first numbers) to make room for my airplane books. It is a story about a soldier-princess (did I describe right?) and her fight against evil. Her largest "weapon" is her kindness and her ability to understand nature.

Here you see Nausicaa on a airplane-like machine called Mehve. I hope you like it.

Take-off                                   Cruising & landing

This one I call the "Myth". Also here I use the Flying Flea configuration. But the tail is a standard one. I found inspiration in the ULF1 ridigwing hangglider and in the Butterfly (ultralight in Flying Flea configuration). The download will give you both models at once.

I wonder ... will such a creation still be launchable by foot? I guess that the protection sticks of the Runner might take some of the weight away for the pilot while taking off.

Take-off                                   Cruising

Landing

This one I call the "Runner". The configuration is that of the Flying Flea. But I placed two spoilers in the rear wing tips instead of the original rudder. Dieter Schulz, the designer of the Sunny, gave me that advise. He suggested it too for all the variants.

Why? Just look at the drawings above and you will understand. Yep, take off is only possible by running and using the prop protectors in the rear. Once you are in the air, you place your feet in the rope in front of you and you pull in the protectors.

To land you need to use the wheels. I guess you will hit the ground with your face if you try to land on your feet. But ... the prop is now too large. It will hit the ground too. You need to stop the engine and fold the prop. Just ...glide the last meters.

The runner might be a good low budget motor-glider. Or should I say a glider which has no need for helpers. All you need is a bit of fuel.

The runner could be a possible full scale project for any one who wants to fly low budget.

The download will give you only the version of the drawing.

I made this FMS for the FMS 8 version. I still need to learn about this version. The current version has the habit to yaw to the left and to have a bad glide ratio. Still no clue how to change that. But ... I am working on it. Any help is welcome, of course.

This is the "Angel" with seated pilot. The door (large oval) is rather small, but a pilot can enter. I tried it on chairs. I choose to use round windows to get a more retro look.

Do you like it?

I need to thank Pierre Gentil for his help about some weird problem. He showed me the way to fix the problem.

This one is just a idea. Probably will not be built. It uses the Delanne tandemwing configuration. It is a motorized ultralight. The pilot is prone (lying on his stomach).

I hope you like it.

Name: "Open Pou". A primary glider using the Flying Flea configuration of Henri Mignet. This glider was designed to be easily built and easily flown. Goal is to teach kids to fly using this glider. As you can see, this glider is a real project. It is actually being built in my school by 12-18 year old students!

Enjoy the virtual flight in your Open Pou.
